If you know me at all, you know I like my routines.
Actually, I love them.
Honestly, I live by them.
And so in the middle of all that, there are five things above all others that I just never get tired of. Here they are:
1.Listening to Don Henley’s The Boys Of Summer, especially Mike Campbell’s subtly sublime guitar work.
2.Watching Roger Federer hit winning one-handed backhands. Which is why finding this video on Monday was such a treat.
3. The sound of thin bible pages turning. For some reason, I get special comfort from turning pages between the four books of Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians.
4. The feeling of satisfaction/relief/now-I-can-be-nice-to-people-again when a sermon prints out of the printer. Then it goes in the file and gets pulled out in (literally) two months to begin internalizing for Sunday preaching.
5. The rush of endorphins at the Y. As well as the feeling of accomplishment when it’s over.
