A Good Shepherd friend told me this week that she is “a poster child for our mission statement.”
Meaning?
“I knew about Jesus,” she said. “But I didn’t know what it meant to have a living relationship with him til I got here.”
And: “I’m not just a poster child for the mission statement; I’m really proud of it.”
Interestingly, this Good Shepherd friend began attending here in 2011 — right at the time we landed on and then unveiled . . .
Inviting All People Into A Living Relationship With Jesus Christ.
Each word chosen with care. Each phrase loaded with meaning for what it says and what it doesn’t say. Taken together, it’s something that if you have been at Good Shepherd for any length of time you have heard and heard and heard.
And a sentence that, as our friends at Auxano tell us, demonstrates the maxim: words make worlds.
Now we have a poster child to prove it.
