Drive Through Prayer At Good Shepherd’s Zoar Road Outreach Center

As many of you know, part of Good Shepherd’s ministry takes place at the Zoar Road Outreach Center (ZROC for short!).  You can read how Good Shepherd adopted the ZROC here.

The ZROC is a unique expression of the multi-site church in that we don’t have Sunday morning worship gatherings there but rather use it for a variety of outreach ministries.

Which is why I’m energized by how we will use it tomorrow — Thursday, May 1 — the National Day Of Prayer.

It will be a Drive-Through Prayer Center.

Zoar Road itself is a highly traveled thoroughfare, and has become infamous in recent years for traffic back-ups during both morning and evening rush hours.  So one of Good Shepherd’s LifeGroups came up with the idea of offering drive by prayer for frustrated motorists.

(It does make me think of the Roman Catholic Church that advertised its drive by confessional with a large banner that said Toot N Tell Or Go To Hell, but that’s another story for another time.)

I guess you could say that on Thursday at the ZROC we will invite all drivers into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

This project is still looking for volunteers to help with prayer, parking, and traffic control.  I encourage you to sign up by clicking here.  The morning shift is from 6-10 a.m. and the afternoon ministry is from 4-8 p.m.
